applied separately: a <strong>humic acid granule<\/strong> and a <strong>live bacterial inoculant<\/strong>. The leonardite granule is coated with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bacillus_subtilis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bacillus subtilis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bacillus_megaterium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bacillus megaterium<\/a>, each guaranteed at <strong>0.5 \u00d7 10\u2078 CFU\/g minimum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The logic is that each component makes the other work better. Humic acid is a carbon source and a protective matrix \u2014 it gives the bacteria something to feed on and somewhere to survive the journey from the bag to the root zone. Bacillus, in turn, is a phosphate solubiliser and a root coloniser, so it mobilises nutrients the humic fraction is holding. Applied together, survival rates are better than either applied alone into hostile soil.<\/p>\n<p>Both strains are <strong>spore-forming Bacilli<\/strong>, which is a practical decision rather than a marketing one.
