sodium in the reaction \u2014 the alkali used is potassium hydroxide throughout, so there is no sodium to carry through into the finished product.<\/p>\n<p>The specification is our strongest: It is available as a 60\u201380 mesh powder or a 2\u20134 mm flake, at the same specification.<\/p>\n<p>Why does sodium matter? Standard potassium humate is made with KOH, but sodium humate is made with NaOH \u2014 and cheaper production routes, or shared equipment, leave sodium in the product. Sodium is the ion that damages soil structure, disperses clay, and accumulates in closed systems that have no leaching fraction.
