Product Overview
Mineral Source Potassium Fulvate is JINGFENG’s potassium-rich humate extracted from leonardite, a young oxidized lignite rich in humic acid. It is used worldwide as a fertilizer raw material and plant biostimulant.
Sodium-Free Potassium Fulvate Flakes I is our custom-manufactured grade for programmes where sodium is the enemy. Standard potassium fulvate is extracted with a potassium-sodium alkali blend and can carry residual sodium. This grade is made with a potassium-only route, and the difference shows in the analysis — and in the field.
The numbers are the strongest in the family: 15% K₂O minimum (against 12% in the standard grades) because there is no sodium competing for the exchange sites, alongside 50% fulvic acid and 50% humic acid. The flakes are a glossy 2–3 mm, and solubility measures 99% minimum.
Where does it earn its premium? Sodium-sensitive crops — grapevine, strawberry, avocado, stone fruit, tobacco, potato and most berries, all of which accumulate sodium in leaf tissue and show burn, necrosis or yield loss. Closed and recirculating systems — hydroponics, glasshouse recirculation and any operation re-using drainage water, where sodium has nowhere to escape and builds up season after season. Saline and sodic soils, where adding sodium to an already sodic profile is the last thing the agronomist wants.

Specification values are guaranteed minimums on a dry basis. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis accompanies every shipment.
Form & Solubility
Form: glossy black flakes, 2–3 mm — noticeably shinier than the standard Flakes I, which is the visual cue that you are holding the sodium-free grade.
In water: 100% soluble, and in practice the higher potassium loading makes it wet out a little faster than the standard flake. The same rule still applies though — agitate while it dissolves. Pre-dissolve in a small tank, keep the stirrer running, then filter into the system.
pH note: this grade carries a wider pH window of 9.0–12.0, higher than the 9.0–10.0 of the standard grades. That is a consequence of the potassium-only route. It is completely normal for this product and is not a defect — but if you are blending it into a formulation with a tight pH window, account for it in your buffer calculation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it completely sodium free, or just low sodium?
It is manufactured on a potassium-only extraction route, so no sodium is introduced in production. That is why the K₂O guarantee sits at 15% rather than 12% — there is no sodium competing for the exchange sites. If your programme needs documented sodium figures, tell us at enquiry stage and we will provide the applicable test report.
Why is the pH window 9.0–12.0 rather than 9.0–10.0?
A consequence of the potassium-only route — no sodium alkali is used, so the resulting solution sits higher on the pH scale. This is normal for the grade and is not a quality issue. Do account for it if your formulation has a tight pH window.
Which crops really need the sodium-free grade?
Grapevine, strawberry, avocado, stone fruit, tobacco, potato and most berries are the classic cases — they accumulate sodium in leaf tissue and show tip burn, necrosis or yield loss. Also worth specifying for any closed hydroponic system and for saline or sodic soils.
Is it worth the premium over standard Flakes I?
If sodium is not a constraint in your programme, standard Flakes I is the better value — same agronomy, lower cost, in stock. Specify sodium-free when you have sodium-sensitive varieties, a closed system, or a sodic soil profile.
