Seaweed Extract
Ascophyllum nodosum, enzymatically hydrolysed – 12% to 25% alginic acid.
Eighteen seaweed extract grades from a single Ascophyllum nodosum source: powder, small flake, micro granule, big flake and ready-to-use liquid, with alginic acid guaranteed from 12% to 25% at 100% water solubility.
What is seaweed extract?
Seaweed extract is a water-soluble organic biostimulant produced from marine brown algae. JINGFENG’s Ascophyllum nodosum extract is obtained by physical crushing followed by enzymatic hydrolysis, so the algae’s own alginic acid, seaweed polysaccharides, mannitol, betaine, amino acids and natural plant growth regulators (auxins, cytokinins and gibberellins) are preserved intact. It is used as a root and foliar biostimulant, a soil conditioner, and a raw material for organic fertilizer blends.
Specification values are guaranteed minimums on a dry basis. A batch-specific Certificate of Analysis accompanies every shipment.
Why JINGFENG
JINGFENG controls the chain from harvest to finished bag: cold-water Ascophyllum nodosum, enzymatic hydrolysis rather than harsh chemical extraction, in-house drying and milling, and third-party certification (CERES, ISO 9001) on request. Alginic acid level, particle size and pack format are all made to order. Every shipment is accompanied by a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis, and all specification values on this site are guaranteed minimums on a dry basis.
Five form families

Powder
Fine, free-flowing powder with 100% water solubility – the fastest wet-out for dry blends and spray tanks.

FAQ
What is seaweed extract and how is it made?
Seaweed extract is a water-soluble organic biostimulant made from marine brown algae. JINGFENG uses Ascophyllum nodosum and processes it by enzymatic hydrolysis, so the algae’s own alginic acid, seaweed polysaccharides, mannitol, betaine and natural growth regulators (auxins, cytokinins and gibberellins) stay intact. It is applied as a root and foliar biostimulant and used as a raw material for organic fertilizer blends.
Which grade should I choose – 12%, 16%, 20% or 25% alginic acid?
Start from the alginic acid floor your market or end customer asks for. The 12% grades give the most product per tonne, which suits bulk blending and broad-acre soil programmes. The 14-16% and 16% grades are the general-purpose workhorses for drip, foliar and spreading programmes. The 18%, 20% and 25% grades carry the higher polysaccharide and P2O5 loads specified for soil remediation, compound fertilizer blending and premium formulations.
Powder, small flake, micro granule or big flake?
Powder wets out fastest and blends most evenly where dust is manageable. Small flakes are easier to weigh by the bag and carry less dust. Micro granule pours and meters cleanly and dissolves almost instantly, so it suits drip lines and fertigation. Big flakes are the lowest-dust format and the one most often named in bulk tenders and sea-freight orders.
Is it suitable for organic farming, and can you supply custom grades?
Yes. The material is a naturally derived Ascophyllum nodosum extract with no synthetic additives, and CERES and ISO 9001 certificates are available for organic and food-chain buyers. Particle size, pack format and alginic acid content can be specified to your process. Every shipment carries a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis.
