12% Seaweed Extract Powder
The Volume Grade — 12% Alginic Acid, 100% Soluble
Every lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis stating tested alginic acid, organic matter, K₂O and pH.
Product Overview
Seaweed extract is a water-soluble organic biostimulant produced from marine brown algae. JINGFENG’s Ascophyllum nodosum extract is obtained by physical crushing followed by enzymatic or biochemical hydrolysis, so the algae’s own alginic acid, seaweed polysaccharides, mannitol, betaine, amino acids and natural plant growth regulators (auxins, cytokinins and gibberellins) are preserved intact. It is used as a root and foliar biostimulant, a soil conditioner and a raw material for organic fertilizer blends.
12% Seaweed Extract Powder is the lower-alginic, volume grade of the range of our seaweed extract range. A 12% alginic acid load with ≥ 50% organic matter — more product per tonne, which suits bulk blending and broad-acre soil programmes where cost per hectare leads.
It is supplied as a fine, free-flowing powder and is 100% water soluble. The material is produced from Ascophyllum nodosum by physical crushing and hydrolysis, so the seaweed’s own alginic acid, polysaccharides, mannitol, betaine, amino acids and growth regulators reach the field intact. Use it in drip and flushing programmes, in foliar tanks, spread on the soil, or as a raw material in organic fertilizer blends.
Key Benefits
≥ 12% alginic acid
A guaranteed alginic acid floor of ≥ 12% — the seaweed fraction buyers check first when comparing grades.
Dissolves completely
100% water soluble with no residue — pre-dissolve for a drip line or add straight to the spray tank.
Blends evenly
A fine powder that mixes uniformly into NPK, organic and microbial blends, even at low inclusion rates.
Natural growth regulators
Carries the seaweed’s own auxins, cytokinins and gibberellins, plus mannitol and betaine for stress tolerance.
Feeds soil biology
Seaweed polysaccharides and amino acids are readily available carbon for the soil microbiome.
COA on every batch
Each lot ships with a Certificate of Analysis stating tested alginic acid, organic matter, seaweed polysaccharides, K₂O and pH against the stated Chinese industry standards.

Form: black, free-flowing powder. Low dust for a seaweed powder; wets out readily and mixes evenly into dry blends.
In water: 100% water soluble. It disperses within seconds under light agitation and leaves no residue, so it can go straight into the spray tank or the fertilizer stock.
Handling: standard dust protection when handling bulk. Reseal opened bags to keep moisture out.
How the seaweed extract grades compare
| Grade | Form | Alginic acid | Organic matter | K₂O | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12% Seaweed Extract Powder (this product) | Powder | ≥ 12% | ≥ 50% | 10 – 12% | Bulk blending, broad-acre soil programmes |
| 12% Seaweed Extract Flakes | Small flake | ≥ 12% | ≥ 50% | 10 – 12% | Flushing, drip and foliar at volume |
| 14-16% Seaweed Extract Micro Granule | Micro granule | ≥ 14% | ≥ 45% | ≥ 14% | Mechanical spreading and dry blends |
| 14-16% Seaweed Extract Flakes | Small flake | ≥ 14% | ≥ 45% | ≥ 14% | General drip, foliar and flushing |
| 16% Seaweed Extract Big Flakes | Big flake | ≥ 16% | ≥ 45% | ≥ 14% | Broadcast spreading on open field |
| 18% Seaweed Extract Big Flakes | Big flake | ≥ 18% | ≥ 50% | ≥ 18% | Soil remediation and high-value crops |
| 18% Seaweed Extract Micro Granule | Micro granule | ≥ 18% | ≥ 50% | ≥ 18% | Blending into organic fertilizer lines |
| 20% Seaweed Extract Big Flakes | Big flake | ≥ 20% | ≥ 50% | ≥ 20% | High-load soil programmes |
| 20% Seaweed Extract Micro Granule | Micro granule | ≥ 20% | ≥ 50% | ≥ 20% | Compound and organic fertilizer blending |
| 25% Seaweed Extract Big Flakes | Big flake | ≥ 25% | ≥ 40% | ≥ 20% | Concentrated programmes, premium blends |
| 25% Seaweed Extract Micro Granule | Micro granule | ≥ 25% | ≥ 40% | ≥ 20% | High-load blending and fertigation |
All grades are 100% water soluble and carry the same seaweed-derived growth regulators. Higher alginic acid grades need a lighter dilution in the spray tank or irrigation line.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which seaweed extract grade should I choose?
Grades are sold on alginic acid content. This one is 12% alginic acid, the lower-alginic, volume grade of the range. A higher alginic grade lets you use less product per hectare, while a lower grade suits bulk blending where cost per tonne leads. Tell us your crop and route and we will recommend the grade.
How do I dilute it?
Dilute 1:1000 – 1:1500 with clean water for foliar spraying, drip or water-flushing irrigation. With compound fertilizer use 1:100; added to a pesticide or foliar fertilizer tank use 1:5000. Always add the product to water, not water to the product.
Is it 100% water soluble?
Yes — 100% water soluble with no residue. It dissolves under light agitation and leaves nothing to filter, so it is safe for drip lines, micro-sprinklers and spray tanks.
Is it suitable for organic farming?
It is a seaweed-derived organic input with no added synthetic plant hormones. Ask us for the input list and technical data sheet you need for your certification body.
Do you provide a COA per batch?
Yes. Every shipment travels with a Certificate of Analysis stating the tested alginic acid, organic matter, seaweed polysaccharides, K₂O and pH.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
Standard stock item. MOQ one pallet; 7–15 days ex-works. Private-label printing and custom blends are available on request.
