Product Overview
Insoluble Humic Acid Powder 40% is the entry cut of our milled leonardite powder — the same seam and the same 80–100 mesh grind as every other grade, simply taken at the 40% humic-acid cut. Nothing is extracted and nothing is chemically solubilised; the material is dried, classified and bagged so the humic fraction stays in its native, water-insoluble form.
The 40% cut exists for one reason: it is the cheapest route to a real humic-acid and organic-matter contribution you can buy. When the material is going into soil, into a granulation line, or into a composting or blending process, you do not need solubility and you do not need a high analysis number — you need tonnes of organic matter at a price that lets you use it at hundreds of kilos per hectare. That is exactly what this grade delivers.
Insoluble Humic Acid Powder 40% is the workhorse base for bulk soil amendment and for organic-fertilizer producers who blend humic content into a finished product rather than sell it on a humic-acid claim.

Because the humic-acid cut is the lowest in the range, this grade carries the least processing premium. For a bulk soil programme where the goal is organic matter and structure rather than a printed humic percentage, it is the most economical buy.
A genuine organic-matter contributor
At 55% minimum organic matter this is a real input to soil organic carbon, not a trace additive. Useful where the market measures organic matter directly and a humic-acid claim is not required.
80–100 mesh grinds clean for blending and granulation
The particle size disperses through a dry blend without balling, and wets evenly in a disc or drum granulator — which is where most of this grade ends up.
Four grades, one supplier and one specification sheet
40%, 50%, 60% and 70% come off the same seam and mill. You can hold a single relationship while covering an entry-level soil conditioner and a premium registered organic product.
Stays in the root zone across seasons
Being water-insoluble, it does not flush through the profile with the first irrigation. It works gradually, which is what a soil-conditioning programme needs.
Heavy metals below detection, every batch
Pb, As, Hg, Cd and Cr are tested against GB 18877 and reported as not detected, with a batch-specific COA — no pooled or generic certificates.

Form & Solubility
Form: dry black powder, 80–100 mesh, slightly damp to the touch (up to 25% natural moisture). Free-flowing but not fluid — it will not run like a fertiliser salt.
In water: it does not dissolve, and it is not meant to. Stir a spoonful into a glass and you get a brown-black suspension that settles within minutes. Do not put this product into a fertigation system, a drip line, or a liquid fertiliser tank — it will block emitters and filters. If you need a liquid, use potassium humate or potassium fulvate.
In the granulator: the 80–100 mesh grind accepts a binder, wets evenly under spray, and builds round granules without excessive fines.
In a dry blend: it disperses well but is fine and dark — expect dust control on the line, and expect the blend to darken.

All five grades come from the same leonardite seam and carry the same heavy-metal declaration (Pb, As, Hg, Cd, Cr all below detection, GB 18877). They differ in particle form and where they fit in your process — not in origin.

Storage: Store under cover in a dry, ventilated place. The powder carries up to 25% moisture and will absorb more on a damp floor — keep it on pallets, not on concrete. Bags are lined, but lined is not waterproof.
Under those conditions the material is stable for years; it does not degrade or lose humic acid content. It may compact slightly over time, which breaks up easily. Shelf life: 24 months in original, unopened packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 40% a ‘lower quality’ product?
No — it is the right cut for a specific job. Solubility is what costs money (KOH reaction); this grade has none of that cost because it goes into soil or a granulator, not a tank. If your specification is organic matter rather than a humic-acid percentage, 40% is the economical choice, not a compromise.
Can I use this through drip irrigation or in a liquid fertilizer?
No. It will not dissolve and will block emitters and filters. For anything that has to pass through a line, use potassium fulvate or potassium humate. We would rather tell you now than ship the wrong material.
How is this different from the 60% and 70% powder?
Same seam, same grind, different humic-acid cut — 40% here, 60% on the standard grade, 70% on the premium low-ash grade. You pay more per tonne as the cut rises, but you only need the higher cut if your label, registration or process demands a specific humic percentage. Which grade should I buy?
Buy the lowest grade that still hits the number you are held to. If you sell on organic matter with no humic claim, 40% is the cheapest route. If your label states a humic-acid percentage, work backwards from that claim and the inclusion you can afford.
