Product Overview

Extruded Potassium Humate Granules are made by hydraulic extrusion — the soluble potassium humate mass is forced through a die under pressure and cut to a uniform 2–4 mm black granule at 60% minimum humic acid, 10–12% K₂O and 100% water solubility.

Hydraulic extrusion is a different process from the other two granular grades, and the difference shows up in the analysis. Compacted Granules (roller-compacted, oval, no binder) and Round Granule (disc-granulated, spherical) are both 40% humic acid and 80% soluble. This extruded grade runs 60% humic acid and 100% soluble — it is the granular grade for a buyer who needs a real humic analysis and full solubility, not just a soil-placement particle.

What extrusion buys specifically is strength. The granule is pressed into a dense, uniform cylinder that survives bagging, conveying, blending and broadcasting with minimal fines. Our batch COA records a crush strength of 20.2 N against a 15 N specification — well above the bar, and the reason this grade is the one we recommend for hard-handling BB fertilizer lines.

The granule is black and matte (not a shiny flake or crystal). That is deliberate: this is a working grade for blending and soil, where analysis and strength matter more than shelf appearance. If presentation is the priority, the shiny grades are the better visual choice.

Key Benefits

60% humic acid with 100% solubility

The granular grade with a genuine soluble analysis. Unlike the 80%-soluble compacted and round grades, this one dissolves completely — useful when part of the program is fertigation and part is soil placement.

High crush strength, low fines

Hydraulic extrusion presses a dense, uniform granule. Batch COA: 20.2 N crush against a 15 N spec. It survives hard handling, blending with urea and transport without breaking down into dust.

10–12% K₂O, real nutrient load

Potassium is a genuine nutrient contribution, not just a counter-ion, at a higher level than the 2–5% granular grades. Useful where you are already paying for K.

Uniform 2–4 mm sizing

Consistent size gives an even spread pattern from a spinner or pneumatic spreader, and matches the band of standard granular NPK for clean blending.

Black, matte working granule

A no-nonsense appearance for blending and soil. If the product is sold on analysis rather than looks, this is the right grade; if retail appearance matters, see the shiny flakes and crystal grades.

Batch COA, heavy metals below detection

Humic acid, K₂O, solubility, crush strength and pH tested per batch, with Pb, As, Hg, Cd, Cr reported below detection (GB 18877).

Form & Solubility

Form: uniform 2–4 mm black cylindrical granules, cut from a hydraulic extrusion die. Dense, matte, low-dust.

In water: 100% soluble. The granule softens and dissolves completely with agitation — no residue to block a filter or an emitter. This is the granular grade that can genuinely go through a tank, unlike the 80%-soluble compacted and round grades.

Hardness: high. The extruded structure holds together under pressure and impact, which is why the crush-strength number is well above spec and why we recommend it for aggressive BB lines.

In the blender: 2–4 mm sizing matches granular NPK closely, so distribution through the blend is good and the black colour makes the humic fraction easy to see in a mixed product.

Honest note: this is the high-analysis granular grade — 60% humic acid and 100% soluble, where the compacted and round grades are 40% and 80%. It is also the strongest of the three (20 N crush against a 15 N spec). The trade-off is price and a black matte appearance rather than a shiny one. If your route is purely soil placement and looks do not matter, the 40% grades are the cheaper buy; if you need solubility or strength in a granule, this is the one.

Soluble grades (powder, flakes, crystal) dissolve for fertigation, foliar and liquid production. Granular grades (compacted, round, extruded) are built for soil placement, blending and mechanised sowing. Every grade ships with a batch COA and the same heavy-metal declaration (Pb, As, Hg, Cd, Cr below detection, GB 18877).

Applications & Dosage

A high-analysis granular grade — strong enough for hard handling, soluble enough for fertigation:

ApplicationHow to useRate
BB fertilizer (bulk blend) productionBlend at matched 2–4 mm sizing with urea, MAP, DAP or MOP. High crush strength means it stays granular through the line.5–15% of blend
Organic fertilizer base materialUse as the humic component in granular organic fertilizer where a soluble, high-humic granule is wanted.8–20% of formulation
Base fertilizer, mechanised sowingDrill with the seeder and mix into soil at 10–15 cm depth. Avoid direct seed contact.750–1200 kg/ha
Base fertilizer, manual broadcastingSpread evenly and plough in, alone or with other base fertilizers.600–1050 kg/ha
Topdressing by root irrigationDissolve, dilute 500–800 times, stir, filter and irrigate to the root zone — fully soluble, so no residue.300–450 kg/ha per application
Orchard and perennial cropsBand or broadcast under the canopy during the active root period.500 g – 2 kg per plant

Storage: Store under cover in a cool, dry, ventilated place, on pallets and off bare concrete. The extruded granule is dense and low in surface area, so it stores well and resists moisture uptake. Sustained wetting will still soften the granules, so keep it dry. Under cover the material is stable for years. Shelf life: 24 months in original, unopened packaging.

Custom packaging, private-label printing and OEM specifications are available on request. Packaging photos are available in the product gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from Compacted and Round granules?

All three are 2–4 mm potassium humate granules, but the analysis differs. Compacted (oval, roller-compacted) and Round (spherical, disc-granulated) are 40% humic acid and 80% soluble. This extruded grade is 60% humic acid and 100% soluble. Extrusion also gives a higher crush strength. Choose this grade when you need a real humic number and full solubility in a granular form; choose compacted or round for lower-cost soil placement.

It is black and matte — is that lower quality?

No. The colour is the natural potassium humate. Shiny flakes and crystals are polished for retail appearance; this is a working granule for blending and soil, where analysis and strength matter more than looks. The COA is the same standard as every other grade.

Can it really go through fertigation?

Yes — 100% water soluble, no residue. Dissolve, dilute 500–800 times, filter as normal practice and irrigate. That is the practical advantage over the 80%-soluble granular grades, which will leave a residue through a fine emitter.

Will it segregate when blended with NPK?

Less than an irregular particle would, because the 2–4 mm granule sits in the same size band as standard granular NPK. Every blend line behaves differently — run a segregation trial on your own equipment, and we can supply a sample for that.

Is direct contact with seed safe?

Avoid it. Drill so the granule mixes into soil at 10–15 cm depth rather than sitting with the seed. The material is alkaline at pH 9.0–10.0, and concentrated humate against seed can affect germination. Standard practice for any humic base fertilizer.
