Potassium Humate Shiny Crystal

The Highest-Analysis Soluble Grade — and the One That Sells on Sight

Product Overview

Potassium Humate Shiny Crystal is our premium soluble grade: 65% minimum humic acid, 10% minimum K₂O, 97% minimum solubility, and a distinctly lustrous black crystal that looks like nothing else in the range.

Two reasons customers pick it. The first is specification — at 65% humic acid with 12% maximum moisture, this is the most concentrated, driest soluble humate we make. The low moisture content means you are buying active material rather than water, which matters when you are comparing price per unit of humic acid rather than price per tonne.

The second is appearance, and it is not a trivial consideration. In a retail bag, in a clear container, or on a trade-show table, the crystal looks like a premium input. Several of our customers sell into markets where the buyer inspects the material before agreeing a price, and a glossy black crystal simply performs better in that moment than a matte powder or flake. It also dissolves visibly and completely, which makes a convincing demonstration.

Available in 1–2 mm (faster dissolution, finer appearance) and 2–4 mm (easier handling, stronger visual impact).

Potassium Humate Shiny Crystal costs more per tonne than the standard grades. On cost per unit of humic acid the gap narrows considerably — and where the material is seen before it is bought, it often pays for itself.

Key Benefits

Highest humic analysis of the soluble range

65% minimum humic acid against 60% on standard powder and flake. On a cost-per-unit-of-humic-acid basis the premium is much smaller than the per-tonne price suggests.

12% maximum moisture — the driest grade we make

At 12% moisture against 15% on standard grades, you are buying more active material per tonne and less water. That matters for freight as well as for formulation.

Distinctive lustrous appearance

Glossy black crystal with real visual impact. In retail packs, clear containers and buyer meetings, the material sells itself in a way a matte powder does not.

Dissolves visibly and completely

97% minimum solubility with a clean, dramatic dissolution. A genuinely effective demonstration for distributors and growers.

Low dust, clean handling

The crystal is dense and hard, generating essentially no fines in handling and transport.

Two size grades available

1–2 mm for faster dissolution and a finer appearance, or 2–4 mm for easier handling and stronger visual impact.

Form & Solubility

Form: dense black crystal with a distinct gloss, available at 1–2 mm or 2–4 mm. Hard, clean, essentially dust-free.

In water: 97% minimum soluble. The crystal breaks down and disperses completely under agitation, with a small insoluble fraction (up to 3%) that is normal for this grade and harmless in soil or through a properly filtered system.

Handling: excellent. Dense and hard, so it pours cleanly, generates no dust, and does not degrade into fines in the bag.

Appearance in the pack: the reason many customers choose it. The lustre is genuine and it survives handling, which is not true of every ‘shiny’ humate on the market.

Honest note: this grade is 97% soluble, not 100% — up to 3% remains undissolved, which is normal and stated on the specification. If your filtration is marginal or you need zero residue, use the powder. It is also priced at a premium: on a per-tonne basis it costs more, though on cost per unit of humic acid the gap is considerably narrower than it first appears.

Soluble grades (powder, flakes, crystal) dissolve for fertigation, foliar and liquid production. Granular grades (compacted, round) are built for soil placement, blending and mechanised sowing. Every grade ships with a batch COA and the same heavy-metal declaration (Pb, As, Hg, Cd, Cr below detection, GB 18877).

Applications & Dosage

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, ventilated place, sealed and off bare concrete. At 12% maximum moisture this is our least hygroscopic soluble grade and it stores well, but it will still pick up moisture if left open in humid conditions. Under dry conditions the crystal is stable for years with no loss of appearance, analysis or solubility. Shelf life: 24 months in original, unopened packaging.

Custom packaging, private-label printing and OEM specifications are available on request. Packaging photos are available in the product gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it only 97% soluble when other grades are 100%?

The crystal is a less heavily processed material than the fully solubilised powder, so a small fraction (up to 3%) remains undissolved. It is normal for this grade, it is stated on the specification, and it is harmless in soil or in any properly filtered system. If you need absolute 100% solubility with zero residue, use the powder grade.

Should I buy 1–2 mm or 2–4 mm?

1–2 mm dissolves faster and looks finer and more uniform in a small retail pack. 2–4 mm handles more easily in bulk and has stronger visual impact in a large container or a demonstration jar. For fertigation and plant use, 1–2 mm is usually the practical choice; for retail presentation, 2–4 mm is often preferred.

Is the shine natural?

Yes — it is a property of the crystal structure produced under our process conditions, not a coating or an additive. That matters, because some ‘shiny’ humates on the market are surface-treated, and the lustre disappears once the material is handled or dissolved. Ours does not.

How does the price compare on humic acid content?

Per tonne it is more expensive. Per kilogram of actual humic acid the gap is much smaller, because you are getting 65% against 60% and 12% moisture against 15% — you buy less water and more active material, and you pay freight on less water too. We are happy to run the numbers against your landed cost.

Will it work through drip irrigation?

Yes, with normal filtration. Dissolve fully in a stock tank, allow any minor residue to settle, and filter as standard practice. Growers running fine emitters sometimes prefer the fully soluble powder for that reason, and we will recommend it if your filtration is marginal.
