Potassium Humate Powder
The Fully Soluble Humic Base for Liquid Formulations and Fertigation
60–80 mesh black powder · 60% humic acid · 10% K₂O · 100% water soluble · pH 9.0–10.0
Product Overview
Potassium Humate Powder is the potassium salt of humic acid, produced by reacting selected leonardite with potassium hydroxide. The reaction converts the naturally insoluble humic fraction into a form that dissolves completely in water, which is the whole point of the product.
At 60% minimum humic acid and 10% minimum K₂O, fully soluble at 60–80 mesh, this is the grade we supply most often to liquid fertilizer plants, fertigation programmes and foliar formulators. It dissolves without residue, it survives dilution in hard water better than most humates, and it is priced to be used at formulation scale rather than as a boutique additive.
Two things are worth knowing before you buy. First, pH is 9.0–10.0 — this is an alkaline product, and it will raise the pH of whatever you put it into. Second, solubility is genuine but it is not instant: add it to moving water, not into a still tank, or you will fight lumps all afternoon.
Potassium Humate Powder is the working grade — the one that goes into formulations rather than onto brochures.
Key Benefits
100% water soluble, no residue
Dissolves completely at 60–80 mesh. Nothing settles out in the tank, nothing blocks a filter or an emitter, and nothing is left in the bottom of the drum.
60% humic acid with 10% K₂O
A high-analysis soluble humate. The potassium is a genuine nutrient contribution, not just a counter-ion — useful in formulations where you are already paying for K.
Formulated for liquid fertilizer production
Stable in solution, compatible with most NPK solutions, and tolerant of hard water better than most competing humates. This is what our liquid-plant customers actually run.
Improves fertiliser use efficiency
Humic acid holds ammonium, potassium and trace elements in the root zone and reduces fixation. In practice this means more of the NPK you paid for reaches the crop.
Works through fertigation and foliar
Soluble enough for drip and micro-systems, and clean enough for foliar application at appropriate dilution. One raw material covering both routes.
Batch COA with tested values

Form: dry black powder, 60–80 mesh, free-flowing and slightly hygroscopic. Absorbs moisture from humid air, so keep bags sealed.
In water: fully soluble, with no residue. It dissolves faster in warm water and faster still under agitation. Add it to moving water — sprinkled onto the surface of a still tank it forms lumps that take a long time to break down.
Hard water: handles moderate hardness better than most humates on the market, but very hard water (high Ca/Mg) will eventually precipitate humates. If your water is hard, run a jar test before a full batch, or ask us about a grade with improved hardness tolerance.
pH: at 9.0–10.0 this is an alkaline material. It will raise the pH of an acidic formulation, which is often useful — but check compatibility before blending with acidic products or with liquid phosphate.

Soluble grades (powder, flakes, crystal) dissolve for fertigation, foliar and liquid production. Granular grades (compacted, round) are built for soil placement, blending and mechanised sowing. Every grade ships with a batch COA and the same heavy-metal declaration (Pb, As, Hg, Cd, Cr below detection, GB 18877).
Applications & Dosage
A soluble grade — every use below goes through water or into a liquid formulation:
| Application | How to use | Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Fertigation and drip | Dissolve and inject through drip or micro-irrigation. Fully soluble, so filter and emitter blocking is not a concern at correct dilution. | 2–5 kg/ha per application |
| Foliar application | Apply as a dilute foliar spray. Humic acid improves leaf uptake of accompanying nutrients. | 0.5–1.5 kg/ha, 1:1000–1:1500 |
| Liquid fertilizer production | Dissolve into NPK solutions, suspension fertilizers or liquid blends as the humic component. | 5–15% of formulation |
| Seed treatment and root dip | Dip or coat transplants and seedlings to support early root development. | 0.5–1% solution |
| Soil drench | Apply as a soil drench around the root zone for horticultural and perennial crops. | 1–2 kg per 1000 L |
| Hydroponic and substrate systems | Add to the nutrient solution where a soluble humic fraction is wanted. Check compatibility with your nutrient recipe first. | 50–150 g per m³ |

Storage: Store sealed in a cool, dry, ventilated place. This grade is **hygroscopic** — left open in humid air it will absorb moisture and begin to cake. Caking does not destroy the product but makes it awkward to handle and slower to dissolve. Keep bags off bare concrete and reseal part-used bags. Under dry conditions the powder is stable for years with no loss of solubility or humic acid content. Shelf life: 24 months in original, unopened packaging.
Custom packaging, private-label printing and OEM specifications are available on request. Packaging photos are available in the product gallery.
Successful Cases
Liquid fertilizer plant, Turkey
Dissolves Potassium Humate Powder at 8% into a liquid NPK line sold into the greenhouse sector. Chose the powder over flake because their plant has no pre-dissolving stage — the 60–80 mesh goes straight into the main tank under agitation and is fully in solution within the normal batch cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from insoluble humic acid powder?
Chemistry. Insoluble humic acid powder is milled leonardite — it does not dissolve and is used in soil and granulation. This product is leonardite reacted with potassium hydroxide, which makes it fully water soluble and adds 10% K₂O. Solubility costs more to produce, so this grade is more expensive per tonne; it is worth it only if the material has to go through water. If it is going into soil, the insoluble powder is the better economic choice.
Will it block my drip emitters?
No, provided it is properly dissolved and used at recommended dilution. The product is 100% soluble with no residue. The failure mode we do see is undissolved lumps going into the tank because the powder was added to still water — add it under agitation, and filter as normal practice.
Can I mix it with other fertilisers?
Usually yes — it is commonly combined with NPK solutions, urea and most trace element mixes. Two cautions: the material is alkaline at pH 9.0–10.0, so check before blending with strongly acidic products; and avoid high-calcium solutions, since calcium will precipitate humates. If you are unsure, run a jar test or send us your formulation and we will check it.
What dilution should I use for foliar?
Typically 0.5–1.5 kg per hectare at 1:1000 to 1:1500 dilution, but the right rate depends on crop, growth stage and water volume. Start at the low end, check for leaf scorch on a few plants, then scale up. Avoid spraying in the heat of the day.
Does it work in hard water?
Better than most humates, but not indefinitely. Moderate hardness is fine. In very hard water, calcium and magnesium will eventually precipitate the humate out of solution. Run a jar test with your actual water before committing to a full batch, and tell us your water analysis — we can advise on hardness tolerance.
