Mineral Source Potassium Fulvate is JINGFENG’s potassium-rich humate extracted from leonardite, a young oxidized lignite rich in humic acid, used worldwide as a fertilizer raw material and plant biostimulant.
Mineral Source Potassium Fulvate Flakes I is our 2–4 mm potassium fulvate flakes grade built for liquid fertilizer production and water-run application. Identical in chemistry to Powder I — 55% fulvic acid, 12% K₂O, 100% water solubility — it differs in everything that matters on a production floor: almost no dust, excellent flow through dosing equipment, and no caking in the bag during long sea freight.
These potassium fulvate flakes are derived from mineral-source leonardite, a young oxidized lignite rich in humic acid. Flakes are the grade European and Middle Eastern liquid-feed plants ask for by name — they pour cleanly from a 25 kg bag into a mixing tank without a dust cloud, and they will not bridge or rat-hole in a hopper.
The trade-off is honest and worth stating plainly: flakes dissolve more slowly than powder and need proper agitation. Give them a working stir and they go completely clear — leave them to sit in still water and you will be waiting.
Used at 5–10% of a liquid formulation, or dissolved on farm and run through the irrigation water, Flakes I delivers the same agronomic punch as the powder with a far more pleasant handling experience.

Form & Solubility
Form: black potassium fulvate flakes, 2–4 mm, glossy fracture surface, free-flowing.
In water — read this part. Flakes I is 100% soluble, but flake geometry means each particle must be swept by moving water to dissolve. In still water it settles and dissolves slowly. Follow the three steps and you get a clear solution in 5–10 minutes:
- Pre-dissolve — charge the flakes into a small tank with the water already running. Never fill the tank on top of dry flakes.
- Agitate — keep a mechanical stirrer or recirculation pump running. Agitation, not time, is what dissolves flakes.
- Filter — pass the stock solution through a 100–120 mesh filter before it enters the drip or spray system.
Dust: negligible. Flow: excellent, no bridging. Best for: liquid fertilizer plants, on-farm dissolution tanks, fertigation with a working agitator.

These potassium fulvate flakes fit liquid fertilizer, fertigation and UAN blending better than any other Type I grade. Typical use rates by crop and system:

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place and reseal opened bags. Flakes are less hygroscopic than powder but will still pick up moisture in humid conditions. Shelf life 3 years under proper storage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do flakes really take longer to dissolve than powder?
Yes, and we would rather tell you than have you find out. Powder wets out in seconds; flakes need 5–10 minutes of active agitation. If your process cannot provide agitation, order Powder I or Micro Granule I instead — both dissolve faster.
Can I put the flakes straight into my drip system?
Please don’t. Undissolved particles will collect at the filter and, worse, in the emitters. Always pre-dissolve in a separate tank with a running stirrer, then filter into the system. This is the single most common cause of ‘it didn’t dissolve’ complaints and it is entirely avoidable.
Which is better for liquid fertilizer — powder or flakes?
Flakes, in most plants. They charge without dust, do not bridge in the hopper, and store better. Powder is preferable only if your mixer is slow or you have no agitation, because it wets faster.
Is it compatible with UAN and other liquid fertilizers?
Yes. Flakes I stays fully soluble in UAN and blends cleanly with most liquid feeds. As always, run a jar test with your specific formulation before scaling up — that takes five minutes and prevents a very expensive mistake.
Does it arrive caked after a long shipment?
Very rarely, and far less often than powder. The 2–4 mm flake has little surface area to absorb moisture. Bags carry an inner PE liner; keep containers ventilated and the product will arrive loose.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
